Pelco Acquires TraffiCalm to Create Traffic Safety Leader
Chattanooga, TN, November 30, 2022
River Associates Investments, L.P. (“River Associates”), a longstanding lower middle market private equity firm based in Chattanooga, TN, announced the acquisition of TraffiCalm Systems, LLC and MOR Manufacturing LLC (collectively “TraffiCalm”) by its Edmond, OK based portfolio company Pelco Products Inc. (“Pelco”). The acquisition solidifies the combined businesses as a national leader of innovative solutions in traffic management, pedestrian access, electronic LED signs, and traffic and utility hardware manufacturing.
Each company will operate autonomously delivering the same level of commitment of improving roadway safety and saving lives across all 50 states, Canada, and other countries.

TraffiCalm will continue to offer its collection of products including Wrong Way Detection systems with optional notification, flashing sign systems, radar speed signs and more, all proudly Made in America.
Koenig added, “You could think of Pelco as the tree with our poles, bases and mounting products, and TraffiCalm as the branches with their signage and systems. With that analogy, we expect to enhance our existing ‘forests’ as well as create new ones.”
John Ragan will continue to serve as president of TraffiCalm, and the company will remain operating in its current location in Post Falls, Idaho. MOR Manufacturing, the sister company to TraffiCalm, will continue with the same level of commitment to its valued contract customers as it has for more than 30 years. Pelco will continue serving its customers with no immediate changes anticipated.
