Weaver Leather Acquires Troxel Cycling & Fitness

Chattanooga, TN, September 5, 2017

River Associates Investments (“River Associates”), a longstanding lower middle market private equity firm based in Chattanooga, TN, announced the acquisition of  Troxel Cycling & Fitness, LLC (“Troxel”) by its Mt. Hope, Ohio-based portfolio company Weaver Leather, LLC. The acquisition closed September 5, 2017. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Troxel is the world’s leading provider of ASTM/SEI certified equestrian helmets, having provided over three million helmets to the equestrian market. Established in 1898, Troxel is recognized for its innovative design and physician-developed helmet research leadership. With a history of creating performance headgear to meet the demands of equine athletes, Troxel offers a wide range of helmets for schooling, show, trail and western riders. Weaver Leather serves U.S. and international customers in equine, livestock, pet, leather supply, arborist, and custom manufacturing markets. This partnership supports Weaver Leather’s growth in the equestrian arena.
